Last week the seniors had to practice their job interview skills for a career readiness assignment in English 4. Each student had to properly fill out a job application, build a resume, and go through a mock job interview with community volunteers. The kids got some great feedback from the community members who conducted the interviews to polish up their skills before graduation. We asked for volunteers to come in and ask behavior based questions and to score each student on professional dress, resume, application, eye contact, and poise. We were overwhelmed with the amount of support this assignment got from local leaders and business owners. We would like to thank Mrs. Brandi Naylor, Kordale Lornes, Courtney Hickman, Judy Sanchez Fernandez, Wendy Holland, Maggie Wilson, Missy Tunnell, Kimberly Pena, and Judge Todd Hicks for spending several hours with these seniors. Even though these were mock interviews, several of these students caught the attention of REA, Dollar General, and the Chickasaw Nation and have been asked to apply for summer internship applications! Thank you again Marietta for showing up for our kids!
