"Read Across America" was a HUGE success! Each primary class partnered up with another elementary class. The partners read books together outside. Then each class released a balloon with their signature and address. Thank you Mrs. Mayes and Mrs. Baker for this experience!!

Reminder - MS dance Thursday, March 6 from 6-8 in the commons. Students must be eligible to attend, cost is $5.00. Photographs will be available by Lawrence starting at 5:30.
Students in grades 3-5 are enjoying "Book Tasting at the Indian Cafe". Librarian, Mrs. Mayes, has created a wonderful opportunity for students to be exposed to various types of books as they enjoy a "tasting" of each book. What an engaging, fun way to develop a love of reading!!
Congratulations to the Middle School Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Kristi Mansfield, Mrs. Mansfield is in her seventh year as the Middle School Secretary. The students said this about her: "She is always kind and understanding and will help you if something is wrong; things like headaches, fevers, candy stuck in your throat, puking, etc.."; "Always willing to help no matter how hectic her day is" and "she keeps this place running smoothly and is great with the kids". Congratulations Mrs. Mansfield!!
Congratulations to the February Middle School Students of the Month. 8th graders Kevin Barrientos, Meighan Ballard; 7th graders Chayton Perryman, Xarie Stark and 6th graders Tommy Greenwood and Elaina Miller.
7th grade STEM students building mouse trap cars using the engineering design process to see which group can achieve the greatest distance traveled. These cars are powered solely by a single mousetrap.
Senior Spotlight!!
Marietta’s Tri-County students, Ayden Duke (6th grade), Osiel Castaneda (7th grade), Journi Williams and Brooke Freeman (9th grade), participated in the Livestock Show at the Hardy Murphy Colosseum. They did a super job and we are very proud of their hard work!
Marietta students participated in the Love County No Limits show during the Love County Livestock show this year!

Our Primary School GEM (Great Educators Matter) for February is Mrs. Jazmin Salas! Mrs. Salas is our ELL teacher and does a wonderful job. She is passionate about helping her students succeed and works hard to do just that! Congratulations!

As February comes to a close, so does a fifth grade project. Each group created and presented information on a favorite person for Black History Month. Great life skills: collaboration, cooperation, organization and presentation.
Our Primary and Upper Elementary Schools will celebrate Read Across America next week (March 3-6) with a Spirit Week! Please see the attached flyer!
Senior Spotlight!
Our Gifted and Talented soared to new heights this week. The elementary GT students visited Mrs. Hanson's high school class. The students were able to fly the flight simulators. The smiles on their face say it all. Thank you Mrs. Hanson for sharing this exciting opportunity with our kids!
