Congratulations to Coach Harry Jessie for being selected September Staff Member of the Month. Coach Jessie is in his 46th year of teaching with the past 25 years being spent at Marietta. Coach Jessie teaches History and PE. The students said this about him: "He is the best teacher ever", "I choose Coach Jessie because he always teaches us life lessons and is honest with us" and finally, "Because I learned many things from him". Great job Coach!!!

Our Primary students and teachers "Rocked" our School "Ocean-Style" on Tuesday! It was a fun day full of engaging learning! We loved having our families join us for the Rock Your School assembly at the end of the day!

Marietta High School Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher and FCCLA Advisor Amanda Faulkenberry presented at the state FCCLA Advisor STAR Event Boot Camp held in Guthrie. STAR Event Boot camp is a professional development workshop to help advisor prepare for STAR Events.

Guess what time it is?!? The Marietta Elementary Library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair that will begin tomorrow morning, September 30th, and will run through Friday, October 3rd. There are lots of good books and items to choose from! Let the fun begin!
First Graders learned all about apples last week. They studied the parts of an apple, the apple life cycle, how fruits interact with each other, and ended the week with Apple Volcanoes!
On Friday, our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day!
Our Primary School GEM for September is Mrs. Cynthia Bell! This is Mrs. Bell's first year at Marietta Primary, but she has 18 years of teaching experience before joining us. She is one of our amazing Kindergarten teachers and does a wonderful job! She is a patient and kind teacher who wants all of her students to be successful! Congratulations to Mrs. Bell!

Fourth graders, in Miss Burke's class, connected literacy and science this week! Our weekly passage was about the science behind sight. We made a pinhole camera out of a chip can to see objects upside down, just like how images are sent upside down to our retinas before they are turned right side up by our brains!
Friday was our first Elementary Spirit Rally! Our students were excited to cheer alongside our high school cheerleaders, showing school spirit. Students were all smiles and are proud to be a part of this great school district!
