Marietta Public Schools

Congratulations to the Marietta High School Choirs today: the Show Choir is State Bound!!! We qualified for State with 6 Superior Ensembles and 7 Superior Solos. We also had 4 Excellent Ensembles and 4 Excellent Solos. The following students competing in State in April are: Ace Austin, Alexis Doby, Alexis Creasman, Brice Carlile, Eva Bucher, Kamarah Bertrand , Rebekah Alberda, Benito Maldonado, Cynthia Lopez, Haylen Lowery, Jariah Sutherland, Melanie Ortiz and Mina Hughes. Middle School students who received Excellent Ratings on Solos were Claire McGehee and Leah Barber.

High School STAR Educator for the month of February is Stacey Roach. Mrs. Roach has been in education for four years and teaching at Marietta High School for two years. Congratulations to Mrs. Roach!

Congratulations to High School Student of the Month for February Sophomore Daniel Salas and Senior Abigay Miranda.

FCCLA officers visit the State Capitol today to advocate for FCS education and FCCLA. Officers had the opportunity to meet with Representative Josh Cantrell.

FCCLA officers helped pick-up, organize, and deliver Valentine goodies for all high school students. They were amazing in helping organize lots of balloons, stuffed animals, flower arrangements and candy. Thank you for all your amazing help today.

FCCLA Members toured the Community Youth Services center in Ardmore today. Thank you to MHS Alumni Brandi Pierce for taking time out of your day to show us the wonderful work that you all provide.

FCCLA member volunteered today at Sara’s Project in Ardmore as part of National FCCLA Week for FCCLA Day of Service.

Congratulations to the following students who placed at the Rush Springs Speech Tournament on Saturday, February 10th: Emma Chaney and Jameson Muller-1st Place Dramatic Duet Acting, Kyle Austin-2nd Place Prose, Kara Miller-2nd Place Dramatic Interpretation, Haylen Lowery-3rd Place Dramatic Interpretation, Delaney Aust-Monologue, Kelsi Lawson-3rd Place Poetry, Emma Chaney-4th Place Prose, Bella Faulkenberry-2nd Place Novice Prose, and Shawn Vasquez-Prose Finalist.

Congratulations to Juniors Joan Vega and Emily Faulkenberry. Joan and Emily were finalists in this year’s REA Youth Tour Essay Contest and presented their essays at a banquet on February 8th. Joan placed 5th and won a cash prize. Emily placed 2nd and won an all-expenses paid trip to Washington DC this summer. We are very proud of the way Joan and Emily represented Marietta High School and are happy to celebrate their accomplishments with them!

7th Grade Stem students have been designing and making boots for people affected with cerebral palsy.

Congratulations to Emily Faulkenberry for being named the National FCCLA Member of the Month from Oklahoma for February 2024. Emily is a junior at Marietta High School and is the daughter of Bobby and Amanda Faulkenberry.
