Congratulations to Robin Mayes, Marietta School Librarian, as Elementary Teacher of the Year! Fellow staff describe her as hardworking, sweet, reliable, dedicated and organized and related that she always goes above and beyond to plan engaging lessons and activities for her class. Students look forward to going to her class. Mrs. Mayes manages the library in not only the Primary/Elementary building but Middle and High School. She is a very busy staff member! She has taught for 33 years with 11 being at Marietta. Congratulations to Mrs. Mayes all staff being announced for Teacher of the Year at our other campuses!

Congratulations to Mrs. LeeAnn Hicks for being selected Middle School Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Hicks is in her 23rd year of teaching, with the past 20 being in Love County Schools. She is in her 2nd year at the Middle School where she teaches 6th grade English and Reading. Congratulations, it is an honor well deserved!!

Primary School Parents-tomorrow is the last day to return any cookie dough orders and money. We have to mail them in so we can get your cookie dough to you in a timely manner. We will not accept any orders turned in after Tuesday, February 22.

Primary School Parents-Cookie Dough Fundraiser order forms and money are now due. Please make sure you send them back by tomorrow! Thanks for helping us do this!!! We appreciate it! 😊

The yearbook order form is being distributed to all students beginning today. If you have not received one from your student please contact Mrs. Ramon at lramon@mariettaisd.org. Please see the attached picture of the order form.

3rd Grade Parent Meeting - All parents of 3rd grade students need to attend this meeting. The meeting will be held at the elementary building on Thursday, February 17. Parents can attend the meeting either at 5:15 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. We will be discussing the Reading Sufficiency Act Law which allows your student to either promote to 4th grade or be retained.

3rd graders in Drain’s and Burchfield’s class researched, wrote, and reported out on their dinosaur. Lots of good facts were shared!

Marietta Choir hosted the 2022 Circle the State With Song Tuesday night, February 8. Around 90 students from area schools were selected to perform. Marietta had 10 Elementary students and 9 Middle School students perform. Thank you to our awesome music leaders, LaWanna Reed and Courtney Starsick Anderson for their leadership and love of music.

Don't forget the Child Health & Wellness Day is scheduled today at Eastside Baptist Church from 10-2. Legal guardian must be present. The Love County Health Department Baby Mobile will be on site with free diapers, formula and food for kids birth-3 years old.

After school tutoring will resume Monday, February 7, for all primary and elementary students.

Scott Anderson is Marietta high school’s STAR educator for the month of January. Mr. Anderson is a favorite among our high school students. Congratulations Mr Anderson!!!

Congratulations to the January Middle School Students of the Month. 8th grade Samual Alvarez, Annalise Vivyan, 7th grade Wyatt Drain, Emma Gore and 6th grade Jackson Banta and Lizbeth Barrientos-Rueda.

Congratulations to Rocky Valenzuela and Trinity Kassheimer, they are Marietta high school’s January students of the month. For their hard work and good behavior, they receive a gift card donated by Sonic. Great job!!!

The Middle School Teacher of the Month for January is Ms Jennifer Dobbins. Jennifer is in her 11th year teaching and her fifth at Marietta. She taught four years in 5th grade and is in her first year at the Middle School teaching 7th and 8th grade Science. Congratulations Ms Dobbins, we are glad you are at the Middle School.
