May 7, 2020 Dear Parents of the Class of 2020: We would like to share some important information with you regarding preparations for your student’s upcoming graduation events and prom. We ask that you discuss these details with your son or daughter. Senior Parade and Yard Signs At 3:00 p.m. on May 14th yard signs representing each senior will be placed on the Love County courthouse lawn. The following day, May 15th, there will be a drive-thru Senior parade at 3:00 p.m. on Main Street. We ask that all seniors and their family members stay in the vehicle and line up at North Front street by 2:30 p.m. (same as homecoming). We want to encourage seniors to decorate their cars and we ask that you DO NOT wear your cap and gown out of fear that you will lose components of it before graduation. We will then ask parade vehicles to stop & park near the courthouse and we will call only the senior to exit the vehicle and go to the stage to receive their sign. ALL OTHERS SHOULD REMAIN IN THEIR VEHICLES. A photographer will be on site to take photos that will be uploaded for each student to access. It is very important that we adhere to all social distancing guidelines. Scholarship Awards There will be a scholarship awards ceremony at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23rd at the Marietta auditorium. This is an invite only event. You will be contacted by June 15th if you are invited to attend. Prom Prom will be held on June 25th at the Winstar World Casino Convention center. Tickets will go on sale starting after the parade on May 15th, and are $50. Prom will be at 8 p.m. with the promenade beginning at 7 p.m. at the Marietta gymnasium. Prom includes a meal, snacks, prom and after-prom. Graduation Rehearsal Graduation rehearsal is mandatory for all seniors. Seniors must attend practice on Friday, June 26th , at 10:00 a.m. at the football field. Graduates Arrival for Graduation Our graduation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Marietta Football Stadium. We want to celebrate the end of this school year with a “Reverse Parade” this Thursday from 5:30-6:30 PM in our elementary school parking lot loop. Jump in your car and bring your students to drive through our loop so we can see those kiddos’ faces that we miss so much, wave, & say hello! 🚗👋
