Thursday, October 24th, 11 of our Marietta students participated in the Southeast All-District Honor Choir in Durant at the Montgomery Auditorium at SOSU. We had 4 students receive medals: 6 year medal for participation and acceptance through 7-12 grades were Ace Austin and Eva Bucher. 3 year medal from 10-12 grades was Alexis Creasman and 3 year medal from 7-9th grades was Claire McGehee. These students went through a rigorous audition process on September where they were chosen out of the Southeastern are to represent the Honor Choir. There were two honor choirs, the Jr High Choir grades 7-9th conducted by Myles Simpson and included the songs High Flight, Christus Factus Est, Why Not and Heartbeat and the High School Choir grades 10-12th conducted by Tiffany McGrew and included the songs The Music of Stillness, Hold Fast to Dreams, Venite Gaudete and Tshela Moya/Ke nna yo Morena. The music performed is the audition music for the upcoming All-State Honor Choir audition, which will take place on Saturday, November 2nd, in Ada, Ok., at the Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center at ECU. Marietta has 22 Students who will be auditioning for the All-State Honor Choirs.

Thank you to the Lighthouse Police for visiting with our Primary School students today! What a great way to help us learn and celebrate Red Ribbon Week!




Red Ribbon Week is in full swing today. Elementary students dressed up in camo and hats today. We "geared up and wore our hats high".


Thank you to the Lighthorse Police! They came to the primary and elementary to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Students listened to why good choices are necessary. They saw the equipment Lighthorse uses for their job as well.




All-District Honor Choir takes place this week on Thursday, October 24th with 11 of our students in Durant Ok. The Concert is at 7:00pm at the Montgomery Auditorium at SOSU and we have 4 students receiving medals: Ace Austin 6 years Eva Bucher 6 years Alexis Creasman 3 years and Claire McGehee 3 year medal.
The cost is free and administration is encouraged and welcome.

Congratulations to Kara Miller, Dovan Bucher, and Delaney Aust for winning All Star Cast medals for superior acting at the One Act Play Regional competition! Thank you to Firefighter Kyle from Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, Mrs. Lacie, and Ms. Everly for bringing the firetruck for our Primary School students. They learned about all the tools and gear that firefighters use, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and how to call 911 in an emergency. They also learned to "Stop, Drop, and Roll" and "Get Low and Get Out" to be safe in a fire. We appreciate you teaching us all these important things about Fire Safety!
