
Students in Mrs. Petersen's art class are learning about the art and culture of the Hispanic community. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, 4th grade is working on chalk pastel Adobe Landscapes. Their art work will then be displayed in the hall for all to enjoy!

Congratulations to Ms. Ham - the staff selected her as staff of the month. This is Ms. Ham's first year as our High School Secretary. The staff said this about her: "She is always helping both the students and the staff and never is bothered, and always has a smile on her face. She's our own personal superowman and the glue that keeps this building running for both the students and staff. " A huge thank you, Ms. Ham, for the amazing job you do! We appreciate you and are so grateful your apart of our tribe!

Congratulations to Ms. Olivia Carmona - students selected her as teacher of the month. This is Ms. Carmona's first year of teaching, she teaches 6th and 7th grade science. She has served as the ELL aide for the past four year. The students said this about her: "she always helps students and is very kind", she's the sweetest teacher ever", she's so awesome and patient with us" and "she is caring, helpful and always there when you need her." Great job Ms. Carmona.

Primary School's Rock Your School Day was a huge success! It was amazing to see our students engaged and having fun learning! Thank you to our community members and parents for helping to support this event so that we could make it happen!

Thirteen Honor Show Choir Middle School students are in Durant today practicing for the Chorvettes performance. Tonight at 6:30 they will perform along with the Southeastern University's Chorvettes. The performance is located at the Magnolia drive-in. Good luck to our students

Our Primary School GEM for September is Mrs. Stark! Mrs Stark is new to our school this year. She teaches Kindergarten and is doing an amazing job! She is enthusiastic, full of energy, creates engaging lessons, and she loves teaching! Congratulations!
