Marietta High School FCCLA member Emily Faulkenberry competed in the National STAR Event Competition held at the National Leadership Conference in San Diego, California during the first week in July.
Faulkenberry’s competition, Promote and Publicize is an event that recognizes participants who use communication skills and techniques to educate their schools and communities about FCCLA with the intention of growing chapters and strengthening FCS and FCCLA programs.
Competing in the Level 2 event with other FCCLA students from states across the nation, Faulkenberry placed seventh and received a gold medal. In the National STAR Event Competition, Oklahoma FCCLA chapters had 91 competitors entered in 30 different events. Faulkenberry was one of 41 who finished in the top 10.
Faulkenberry will be going into her sophomore year in the 2022-23 school year.
