FCCLA

On September 30, members of Marietta FCCLA chapter joined over 430 student

leaders at the Southeast 1 District Leadership Conference held in Madill.

The event brought together 433 members from 20 FCCLA chapters for a day of

leadership development and community service. District officers from Marietta, Caney,

and Kingston helped to plan a conference that gave members the opportunity to

network with other FCCLA members through games and dancing.

One highlight of the conference was the keynote speaker, Miss Oklahoma, Tessa

Dorrell, who spoke on leadership and the importance of serving one’s community, which

the entire event placed strong emphasis on.

Attendees brought canned food items to donate to Community Youth Services of

Southern Oklahoma, which supports local youth in need. An additional fundraiser held

during the conference raised more than $250 for Citizens Caring for children, an

organization that supports children in foster care.

Marietta FCCLA members were proud to participate in the event and are excited to

bring the leadership skills they learned back to their chapter and their school.
