Future FCCLA members from across the state set their sights on success at the Take
AIM conference, held October 7 at Meridian Technology Center in Guthrie.
Designed specifically for new members, Take AIM provides a dynamic experience filled
with leadership development, team building, and FCCLA spirit. Members attending from
Marietta were Bella Faulkenberry, Alabama Wilkinson, and Ashley Carreon Morales.
Take AIM is designed to provide a stepping stone for new members to allow them to
discover the opportunities that FCCLA offers, develop leadership skills, and connect
with other members in a fun an dinteractive environment.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in activities such as interactive workshops,
team-building exercises, and leadership development sessions.
“Take AIM wasn’t just about learning, it was about having fun,” said Faulkenberry, a
seventh grade student. “One thing I learned from the conference was how to be a
leader who makes people feel seen.”
Wilkinson, also a seventh grader, said, “I made so many new friends and feel even
more excited to be a part of FCCLA.”
Morales is an eighth grader who attended the conference for the second year.
“I loved meeting new people, and it was a lot easier this year to talk to people than it
was as a first year member last year,” she remarked.
The conference encourages new members to become active participants and future
leaders within FCCLA at the chapter level and beyond.
