Marietta Junior High and High School Cross County teams ran Saturday, August 30, in
Madill’s annual Cat Run. The junior high girls team won the meet, high school boys’
team placed sixth, high school girls placed seventh, and junior high boys finished
eighth.
Additionally, several individual runners earned top 25 medals. They include senior Luis
Garcia, who finished third with a time of 16:43 and junior Tripp Presley finishing fourth in
16:45, along with sixth grader Giovonnie Martinez, who finished in 15 th place.
Also, eighth grader Cielo Salas won the individual title with a time of 9:26, eighth grader
Capri Finch in ninth in 10:14, eighth grader Amari Barrios in 18 th in 10:30, and sixth
grader Brynn Wilson in 21 st in 10:47.
“Madill is a great course to run on and this meet always has some good competition,”
said Coach Tanica Anderson. “Our athletes showed a lot of drive and determination in
some rainy and muddy weather. I am looking forward to the rest of the season and
seeing everyone progress.”
