On Wednesday, October 25th, Marietta Choirs competed in the ECU Fall Choral Contest in Ada
Oklahoma. Under the direction of Courteney Starsick, the mixed choir is comprised of 17 students.
The choir sang two selections and received all Superior ratings, earning them a trophy as well as 33
Superior ribbons. Additionally, four ensembles received superior ratings and two ensembles received
excellent ratings.
Four soloists – Rebekah Alberda, Lexi Motes, Mina Hughes, and Melanie Ortiz – received superior ratings
and medals.
“It was a great day for Marietta Choirs and I am so proud of the hard work and dedication put forth by
these students,” said Starsick.
