Kindness is described as “the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate”. World Kindness Day is November 13. We want to go beyond that here at Marietta Primary and Elementary and celebrate Kindness all month. We hope to impress on students that joy of acts of kindness and to encourage them to be looking for opportunities to be kind. Princess Diana was quoted as saying, "Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you."
We feel the time has never been better for our students to observe and give acts of kindness. During our month we will be have different activities for student participation. (See our hand-out.)
Our special classes will also be singing, drawing, reading and playing with the main focus on Kindness so students will be feeling the love through our buildings. I have to believe that we can change the world. WE must choose kindness, towards ourselves, loved ones, strangers and our planet. We must look beyond boundaries and treat others the way we want to be treated. I hope that our Kindness Campaign will continue not just through November but through the rest of our lives.
